Vibrant Matter was an improvisational score that was performed for an invited audience in Queens, New York. Following a period of self-organized research into witnessing and being witnessed, during which four distinct “attentional spaces” were created within one large studio, the performance prompted three dancers and two musicians to respond. Each part of the four-part performance involved movements and sounds responding to 1) the pulsing in our bodies - pulse space, 2) a relationship to any memory - memory channel, 3) the witnessing of other performers - witness space, and 4) a fantasy - fantasy room.
